In the context of the Uruguayan press, there is a group of people known as Parsleys (Perejiles), who usually attend launches, inaugurations, and all kinds of events in order to enjoy the hors d’oeuvres and lunches offered there.
Under a “supposed journalist credential,” their presence goes unnoticed by most of the people who attend these events—except for the press teams made up of reporters, cameramen, and drivers/assistants, who clearly recognize them and generally feel a sense of rejection toward them.
The documentary Parsleys seeks to reveal a side of the press world that is largely unknown. By the end of the film, the protagonists share their point of view and present themselves as journalists with extensive experience.
Parsleys: “The Uruguayan documentary that walks on the opposite sidewalk.”
